Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a therapeutic technique in which a specially trained veterinarian inserts very fine needles into precisely defined points on the animal's body. Rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, it is increasingly supported by modern neurophysiological research. In dogs and cats it is most commonly used to manage chronic pain, joint conditions, neurological disorders, and post-injury rehabilitation. Most animals tolerate the procedure well and frequently display visible signs of relaxation during the session. Owners should expect a course of multiple consecutive sessions; the number and frequency are determined by the diagnosis and the individual patient's response to treatment.
