Electromagnetic therapy (PEMF)
Electromagnetic therapy, commonly referred to as PEMF (pulsed electromagnetic field therapy), is a non-invasive treatment in which a device delivers low-frequency electromagnetic pulses into the animal's tissues. These pulses stimulate cellular metabolism, improve circulation and support the body's natural healing processes. The therapy is most frequently used in dogs and cats experiencing joint pain, arthritis, soft-tissue injuries, and slow-healing wounds or bone fractures. A typical session lasts between twenty and forty minutes, during which the animal lies calmly on a specialised mat or within a loop applicator. The treatment is painless and well tolerated by most pets. A course of several consecutive sessions is usually recommended, with effects becoming noticeable gradually over time. Sessions are conducted by a veterinarian or a suitably trained therapist.
