Chinese veterinary herbal medicine is a branch of traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM) that uses plant-based ingredients to support animal health and address a range of conditions. Formulas typically combine dried herbs, roots, fruits, and minerals that have been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. A veterinarian trained in TCVM conducts a thorough examination and then composes an individualised herbal formula matched to the animal's specific disease pattern. The herbal blend is most commonly administered as a powder, granule, tablet, or liquid extract mixed into food or given directly. It is frequently applied for chronic digestive disorders, skin conditions, joint pain, and immune deficiencies in dogs and cats. Treatment usually runs alongside conventional veterinary care rather than replacing it.
