Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a hands-on therapy that treats the musculoskeletal system, fascia, joints, and internal organs as a functional whole. The practitioner uses gentle mobilisation and manipulation techniques to release tension, address restrictions, and restore balanced movement throughout the animal's body. In dogs and cats it is commonly used following injuries or surgery, and for chronic spinal or joint pain. Older animals with degenerative conditions may also benefit. A typical session lasts 30 to 60 minutes: the therapist palpates soft tissues and assesses the mobility of individual body regions while the animal lies or stands in a relaxed position. The owner is usually present throughout. The number of sessions required depends on the nature and duration of the presenting condition.
