TENS / EMS electrostimulation
TENS/EMS electrostimulation is a physiotherapy technique that uses controlled electrical impulses to relieve pain or stimulate muscle activity. TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) works via skin-surface electrodes to inhibit the transmission of pain signals through the nervous system, while EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) triggers targeted muscle contractions to support rehabilitation after surgery or injury. The approach is well suited to dogs and cats dealing with degenerative joint disease, muscle atrophy, or chronic pain. A trained therapist places electrodes at specific sites on the animal's body and carefully adjusts current intensity and frequency to suit the individual patient. The procedure is painless — most animals tolerate it calmly and remain relaxed throughout the session.
